Facebook "Year in Review" - Good or Bad

Image-Source

Relying just on profiles of people didn't help the company generate a good review of the year for the people of Facebook. People's resemblance with their online identity is not always 100% correct. Everyone has a different sort of identity online compared to their real identity.

What went wrong with Year In Review:

For some users data captured from profile wasn't as relaxing as it was expected, for a user, review focused on image of his daughter with colorful background who died earlier this year. Also the caption "Its been a great year" is not going well with everyone. Web design consultant and writer Eric Meyer wrote in a blog that preview featured photo of his daughter with clip art of figures enjoying festivities.

In another incident some pics didn't remind people of good times of the year.

Posted to Twitter with the note “My friend’s house burned down”. (via @neurodruid)

Facebook later apologized for such "YEAR IN REVIEW" posts. We expect that changes will be done so that app focuses on reminding on awesomeness of year.
